Update on Dye Course Improvements, July 2013

The Dye Course has been closed since June 16th for aerification and implementing some of the changes that Mr. Dye would like to see for the course.  During this time, aerification was quick and swift, and the greens, tees and fairways are healing very nicely.

The rest of the time, we have been making some improvements to our course with the help of Mr. Dye and his staff.  The areas of modification will be considered "Ground Under Repair" until further notice.  Of those improvements, the following were the most significant.

#2 New Tee:
The construction of the new tee on #2 is almost complete, moving of soil, irrigation and drainage is completed.  Now we are in the process of sodding.

#4 Tee and Bunkers:
The project on #4 involved moving the White and Gold Tee to the left approximately 10 feet and adding two new bunkers on the left side of the fairway.  These changes are, also, fairly completed and just needs fresh sod to finish them up.

 #6 Tee:
The new Tee on #6 is shaping up nicely as well.  Again, all that is left to do is sod.
#12 Tee:
The new Tee on #12 was completed last Friday.  It should be just a few weeks before we will be able to put it into play.

#14 Dune and Irrigation:
Number 14 is progressing very well.  We have completed the dirt work and shaping.  The irrigation has been moved and lowered and is now ready for new sod.

Pump Station Repair:
The final "Surprise" project that was taken on during our summer closure was the replacement of one of the three vertical turbine pumps in the golf course irrigation pump house.  After 15 years, one of our pumps locked up and had to be replaced.  As you can imagine, this requires some major coordination and a lot of patience.
